Friends of the School Association (FOSA)
The Upwell Friends of the School Association is a voluntary organisation and its purpose is to help enrich the learning environment at Upwell Academy. We are a very friendly and jovial group and work together as a great team. We know our efforts are really appreciated by the academy; our aim is not only to raise money (although this helps) but also to support where needed and have some fun on the way!
It is our philosophy that working together for a better future for our children really can make a difference.
We have very friendly Parent Teacher Association meetings regularly, and you’re guaranteed to laugh at least once – hence, we have quite a strong team. The more people we get, the less burden falls on any one individual. We welcome everyone who has an interest to attend the meetings whenever possible, parents, grandparents and anyone willing to help from the local community.
We, as parents, realise how busy other parents can be but we really need any help we can get. Even if you could give 1 hour per school year – this would make an enormous difference. Alternatively, if you work for one of the many companies who match funding, such as Barclays, Marks and Spencer, etc. please get in touch. After all it is all of our children who will benefit.
All money raised from events is reinvested into the children, ensuring that ‘Every Child Matters’. They will remember their experience and that they had lots of fun at Upwell Academy. We look forward to inviting you into our team to to share these experiences. Keep your eyes peeled on our new noticeboard for upcoming events and news.
