A reminder to come and join us at the Academy for our Saturday morning community library opening this term, from 9am to 10am. Family members and local community members are encouraged to pop in and enjoy and hot drink and a good book with your children.
We look forward to seeing you here.
We have a very active Pupil Leadership Team, who alongside all pupils across school contribute ideas on ways in which we can further improve our Academy. Our PLT meet regularly with Miss Payne, our Pupil leadership Lead and prior to Christmas they met to discuss, choose and organise new activities which our children can access at lunchtimes.
Every year, during the Spring Term our Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children receive specialist dance lessons, organised by Miss Payne and delivered by an external professional instructor.
Our end of term Celebration Assemblies are always eagerly awaited for.
Read Write Inc is our chosen systematic phonics program. Our children make excellent progress in phonics and as you are aware with the support of Myland English Hub we are continuing to develop our Reading Curriculum. All staff have recently received extensive training, and we are excited to further develop and embed the practice this year.

Christmas Jumper and Christmas lunch day was full of Christmas joy!
We all had the most magnificent time at the Corn Exchange this week to watch the Live Panto: Cinderella!
We had a very special visit from Father Christmas this week! He arrived on his sleigh around 11am this morning. The children were soooo silent listening for his reindeer’s bells!
Christmas joy filled the assembly hall as our Reception Class and KS1 pupils welcomed their families to their heart-warming performance of the Christmas Nativity.
Peterborough came in on Monday of this week, to lead an exciting assembly. Peter Burrow, their mascot, turned up too and challenged some of the teachers to a hilarious dance off!
