Seven enthusiastic Year 5 pupils from Upwell Academy represented the school with pride at the Quick Sticks Hockey Tournament hosted by Pelican Hockey Academy at Lynnsport. The event included representatives from England Hockey, creating a memorable and prestigious experience for the team.

Despite this being Upwell Academy’s first appearance at the tournament, the pupils quickly settled into the occasion. The sunny conditions on Astroturf Pitch 2 provided the perfect backdrop for an exciting day of competitive hockey.

We had an amazing time being space explorers. The planetarium show took us on a tour of the solar system starts the journey of exploration. This year’s theme at Upwell was ‘Fables’ and worked well with the National theme of ‘Read Your Way’ which aims to encourage children to see reading as a fun activity, rather than something they have to do as part of their school studies.
